Books Read So Far
Jan. 16th, 2019 08:40 amBooks read so far for 2019:
The Tommyknockers, Stephen King
The Dead Zone, Stephen King
City of Thieves, David Benioff
Currently reading: Insomnia, Stephen King
Completed Book Count: 3
I'm currently on a massive King kick, which actually started November last year. Mostly been devouring the books I first read when I was younger, known quantities. Second half of 2018 was kinda shitty, and these books are the equivalent of comfy sweatpants for me.
So far I've gone through (in no particular order) The Talisman, The Stand, Night Shift, Carrie, The Shining, Black House, and The Eyes of the Dragon. And that's barely scratching the surface of King books!
Thank goodness for libraries and ebook-borrowing library apps, tho'.
City of Thieves was a book club selection, said book club consisting of me, my husband, and several friends/co-workers. We have a nice group with different reading habits and interests, so we do a nice mix of genre and more literature-y novels. Each month, my husband also selects a short story, because sometimes RL grabs you by the throat and makes it difficult to finish a full novel. And nobody's really shamed for not finishing a book that month.
It's very fun and chill and non-gatekeepery. :)
